Continued compliance with their obligations

Generally a young partner will be considered to have demonstrated continued compliance with their obligations when:

  • they have earned all the incentives that available to them or
  • where a young partner has a full or partial exemption, the service provider or Work and Income 'in-house' service is satisfied that the young partner is engaging with the provider as is required and
  • the young partner has not had an activity obligations failure in the last 6 months

Earning all of the incentive payments available to them

For young partners who have Youth Activity obligations to have the option of getting their payment directly, they would need to earn the following incentive payments:

  • budgeting
  • education and
  • parenting (where applicable)

A young partner who has a full or partial exemption for their activity obligations is only able to earn those incentive payments which apply to their current obligations.
