Five-day verification window

A partner must provide MSD with verification of their Community Work Experience before the end of the 2-week search period, and at the end of their position period. This is to verify that they have:

  • found a position with an organisation during the 2-week search period, and
  • completed all the requirements of their Community Work Experience during the 4-week period.

However, there may be times when MSD is not able to process the information within that same period.

To prevent a partner from being disadvantaged due to processing delays, there is a 5-day verification window at the end of the 2-week search period and at the end of the position period. This allows MSD to process information a partner has provided and ensures a partner’s payment will continue.

Note this is not extra time for a partner to secure a position or provide verification to MSD. Partners must still complete their search and provide verification before the end of the 2-week search period.

No action from MSD

The partner will be considered non-compliant if, after 5 days:

  • MSD has not confirmed if the position is suitable (or unsuitable) for their Community Work Experience, or
  • MSD has not been able to confirm if the partner has completed their Community Work Experience, or
  • the partner has not provided the required verification for either their search period or position period.

Their payments will suspend or reduce from the day after the search period or the position period ended, depending on which verification window was in place. This may result in a debt for the partner.
