Process for deciding appropriate activities

When you and the client are considering appropriate activities for the client to undertake, you should consider the following:

  • what needs or barriers to employment is the activity designed to address for the client
  • what activities are available to help the client move towards employment
  • the Work and Income programmes and services that are available to help the client move towards employment

Examples of appropriate activities include (but are not limited to):

  • participating in the Job Search Service
  • education or training to improve clients work-readiness or prospects for employment
