Ongoing assistance for dependent children

When a surviving dependent child is to be cared for by a person other than a parent, the caregiver may be able to receive an Orphan's Benefit or an Unsupported Child's Benefit.

The surviving dependent children of a veteran may qualify for a Children's Pension from Veteran's Affairs New Zealand. Check whether their caregiver has made contact with Veteran's Affairs.
