A client must have made a reasonable effort to find suitable alternative housing.

This may be through:

• registering and applying for houses through property agencies
• applying for houses advertised in newspapers
• applying for houses advertised on Trade Me

There is no specific number of houses a client must have applied for to meet this criteria as it will depend on the client's circumstances and the rental market in the area.
