Client on the register is under investigation
Clients on the register may be under investigation.
The outcome of an investigation can result in a review of the client's eligibility for social housing.
Where the review determines the client is no longer eligible for social housing, they will be removed from the register.
Client Service Integrity will determine the outcome of the investigation and the impact on the client's application.
Note clients under investigation are not removed from the register while the investigation is being completed.
Review of circumstances
In some cases, the outcome of the investigation may result in a reassessment of eligibility for the client using their correct circumstances.
It may not necessarily mean the client is no longer entitled to social housing. For example, a client may have an undeclared partner but that partner is not working.
Investigation outcome indicates fraud or client fails to comply with investigation
When the outcome of investigation indicates that the application for social housing is fraudulent, or the client has failed or refused to comply with the investigation, Client Service Integrity will advise whether the client should be removed from the register.
Under investigation when referred for placement
If a client still under investigation is referred to a housing provider for placement, where possible you should contact Client Service Integrity to confirm:
- the current status of the investigation and
- that it is appropriate for the referral to continue
