Waiver of suspension
Housing providers may suspend a tenant who has breached their tenancy agreement. Suspension means that the housing provider is not willing to accept the client as a tenant.
Some housing providers may have a waiver policy where the client can apply for the suspension to be lifted. When a client advises that they have a current suspension from a particular housing provider, you should encourage them to seek a waiver of the suspension if this is available. This will increase the client's opportunity for a referral to suitable housing.
They will need to satisfy the housing provider's waiver requirements. Generally they would need to demonstrate a change in their behaviour which resulted in the suspension.
