Applicable parent changes
A young person who met the Parental Assistance Test to qualify for Jobseeker Support Student Hardship must advise MSD of any changes in their parents' circumstances that may affect whether they meet the Parental Assistance Test.
Changes that affect the Parental Assistance Test are when an applicable parent enters or ends a relationship or has an increase in their income. When one of these changes happens, MSD may review the young person's Jobseeker Support Student Hardship to determine if they still qualify.
Relationship change
If an applicable parent enters or ends a relationship, this may affect who the young person's applicable parents are for the Parental Assistance Test.
Parental income increase
If an applicable parent's income increases and the increase is likely to last for the rest of the grant, this may affect whether the young person meets the Parental Income Test.
