Recording income
Any income a client receives, even when the income is less than $160.00 gross per week, must be added to the client's SWIFTT record on the INCMA screen. This is to ensure any Extra help is reviewed correctly and will create a permanent audit trail of all income details.
If the income is over the benefit cut out point and SWIFTT will not accept this information then a note on CMS should be added.
Ensure the following details are recorded:
- source of income, such as the employer's details
- gross (before tax) amount of income received
- period that the income represents and
- contact details for example phoned in by the client
