Tax Certificates
Work and Income does not issue tax certificates to clients.
If a client requests information about their tax details they must be referred to Inland Revenue to get a "Summary of Earnings" or a "Personal Tax Summary".
Exception
Tax details can be issued if a client:
- dies - you can provide details to the estate solicitor, administrator, executor etc. or
- is paid a New Zealand benefit overseas - details will be automatically sent to the client in April each year
