Periods of residence
The maximum amount of residence to be used when calculating the rate of payment a client receives is 540 months. All full months of residence between the ages of 20 and 65 are added together. If there are any extra days left over, these are added together, and then divided by 30 to make up any extra full months.
Certain absences from New Zealand can also be counted as residence when calculating the rate to be paid overseas.
