Clients from Canada
When a former resident of Canada applies for a New Zealand benefit or pension it is important to know whether they are receiving a Canadian pension, or if they may be entitled to one.
A client who has previously resided in Canada must show these details on their application form. These details must be entered into CMS.
Information about clients with overseas residence will be downloaded to International Services who will follow up whether the client has any overseas pension entitlement.
If the client is already receiving an overseas pension you should find out the details to establish whether this pension should be a deduction from the New Zealand benefit or pension.
