Death of a client in New Zealand
The cancellation of New Zealand benefits and pensions on death follows normal procedures.
International Services receives reports from SWIFTT when a New Zealand benefit or pension is cancelled for clients who were also getting an Irish benefit or pension.
The executor/administrator of the client's estate will need to contact the Irish authorities directly at Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs if they require any details of the Irish benefit or pension, such as last payments due. See:
- Overseas pension agencies Republic of Ireland
International Services will send the following information to the Irish authorities:
- the clients name
- date of death and
- the name and address of the executor/administrator of the estate
The executor/administrator of the estate should be added to the client's record using the SBFTZ screen so International Services can advise the Irish authorities.
