Death of a client in New Zealand
The cancellation of New Zealand benefits and pensions on the death of a client follows normal procedures.
International Services gets reports from SWIFTT when a New Zealand benefit or pension is cancelled for clients also getting a Korean old age benefit.
International Services will send the following information to the Korean authorities:
- the clients name
- the date of death and
- the name and address of the administrator of the estate
This information cannot be sent to Korea for clients who receive a Korean benefit or pension not covered by the Agreement.
The executor of the client's estate will need to contact the Korean authorities directly if they require any details of the Korean pension.
Note the executor of the estate should be added to the client's record using the SBFTZ screen in SWIFTT so that International Services can advise the Korean authorities.
