Change in circumstances

Young people must tell their service provider or Work and Income straight away of any changes in their circumstances or their family's situation that may affect their entitlement to Young Parent Payment. Young people are made aware of their obligations by:

  • signing the Young Parent Payment application form or
  • selecting that they agree to the obligations when they submit the online application form for a Young Parent Payment

Legislation

  • Beneficiary must notify change of circumstances section 113 Social Security Act 2018
  • Conduct of provider of services in relation to young people to be treated for specified purposes as if MSD’s conduct section 377 Social Security Act 2018
