Obligations

Young people getting Young Parent Payment have the following obligations.

They must:

• advise the Ministry of Social Development of any change in circumstances that affect their entitlement or rate of benefit payable
• meet all of their activity obligations

Note young people may be able to get an exemption from some, or all of their obligations when it is unreasonable to expect them to meet their obligations for a specified period.
