Enrolment and attendance at Well Child visits
A young person receiving Young Parent Payment must:
- register their child or children with a Well Child/Tamariki Ora provider and
- keep up-to-date with the child's core Well Child/Tamariki Ora checks
Note a young person is only required to meet this obligation from the time they begin to receive Young Parent Payment. They will be meeting this obligation if they meet the relevant checks for the child's age from the time they are required to do so.
Proof of visits
The Well Child/Tamariki Ora Health Book issued to parents when their child is born is sufficient evidence of the child's attendance at visits.
The Health Book has helpful advice and information about what is happening at different stages in the child's development and has places to record all the Well Child/Tamariki Ora appointments and other special and important things that happen to the child in their first 5 years.
