Imprisonment
When a Youth Payment client is imprisoned or detained in custody they are no longer entitled to receive Youth Payment.
The Youth Payment should stop from the day following the date of imprisonment.
YSSU will need to decide whether to suspend or cancel the benefit after having regard to the likely period in prison and whether the client has a partner and/or dependent children.
If the period in prison has already passed, and the client is still meeting their youth activity obligations, the Youth Payment can be suspended for the period in prison using the SBDR screen in SWIFTT.
