Started employment and cancelled Jobseeker Support
To qualify for Bonus Payment:
- the client must have started employment that meets the employment requirement while they were enrolled in Community Job Coaching and
- the Community Job Coaching provider must have been aware of the employment and
- the client must have had their Jobseeker Support cancelled from a date while they were enrolled in Community Job Coaching
Employment requirement must have been met while enrolled
The client must have started employment that meets the employment requirement while they were enrolled in Community Job Coaching.
A client will not qualify for Bonus Payment if they:
- accepted a job while they were enrolled, but started it after they exited the service or
- started or were already in a job while enrolled, but it did not meet the employment requirement until after they exited the service
For example, a client may have started a job while enrolled in Community Job Coaching but did not work enough hours to meet the employment requirement. If they increased their hours after exiting Community Job Coaching, they will not qualify for Bonus Payment even if the employment requirement is met.
Client was already in employment when enrolled
A client who was already in employment when they enrolled in Community Job Coaching may qualify for Bonus Payment if, while enrolled, they started:
- another job or jobs and the combined employment meets the employment requirement or
- a new job that meets the employment requirement on its own or
- working increased hours that meet the employment requirement
For example, a client with full-time work obligations was working part-time when they enrolled in Community Job Coaching. If they increased their hours and met the employment requirement while still enrolled, they may qualify for Bonus Payment.
Provider must have been aware of the employment
The Community Job Coaching provider must have been aware of the employment while the client was enrolled in Community Job Coaching. This includes the provider knowing relevant employment details such as the start date, hours of work, and earnings.
A provider may have been aware of the employment because:
- they placed the client into an employment opportunity or
- they referred the client to an employment opportunity, and the employer advised them of the outcome or
- the client found employment or increased their hours independently and told their provider
If it was not reasonable for the provider to have known about the employment, the client must have told them.
Note this requirement applies even if the client was already in employment when they enrolled in Community Job Coaching.
Jobseeker Support must have been cancelled
The client's Jobseeker Support must have been cancelled from a date while they were enrolled in Community Job Coaching. This means the effective date of the cancellation must have been during the enrolment period.
Jobseeker Support does not need to have been cancelled because of the client's employment. They may have chosen to cancel their Jobseeker Support, or it may have stopped for another reason e.g. a medical certificate or 26-week reapplication was due around the time the client started work.
