Conditions of grant
Relocate for Work Support is subject to conditions of grant. If a client fails to meet one or more conditions of grant without a good and sufficient reason, the whole amount of Relocate for Work Support paid to them is recoverable. MSD must recover this amount from the client in full.
The conditions of grant for Relocate for Work Support mean the client must:
- use the payment to relocate for their new job and
- relocate by air or sea if they get a payment for this method of travel and
- move their possessions if they get a payment for this need and
- relocate for their new job within 28 calendar days of getting the payment and
- cancel their main benefit from the date they start their new job and
- not get a main benefit or Student Allowance within 182 days of the date their job starts
Note if a client fails to meet the condition to cancel their main benefit, there is no discretion to decide if they had a good and sufficient reason. A grant of Relocate for Work Support is always recoverable if this condition is not met.
