Payment
Relocate for Work Support is a non-taxable one-off payment that helps clients relocate to start a new job. It is paid directly to the client in one lump sum.
Payment structure
Relocate for Work Support is paid at a flat rate based on the client's needs, family circumstances, their method of travel, and how far they are moving. It is not based on the client's actual and reasonable costs. This means some clients will get more or less than they need.
Relocate for Work Support has two need categories:
- Travel
- Moving possessions
Every eligible client will get a payment from the travel category, but only clients with a genuine need to move their possessions can get a payment from the moving possessions category.
Maximum payable in a 52-week period
A client can only get Relocate for Work Support once in a 52-week period. If the client or their current partner (if any) received Relocate for Work Support in the last 52 weeks, they will not qualify.
