Debt recovery maximum

The recommended maximum recovery rate for clients currently receiving income support is set at no more than $40.00 a week unless the client volunteers to pay more.

Debt types included in this maximum recovery rate are:

  • Advance Payment of Benefit
  • recoverable Special Needs Grant and
  • overpayment of benefit

There are some types of debt retained in TRACE that are not included in the debt recovery maximum.
