SWIFTT process maximum debt recovery

When you add or review a debt in SWIFTT and the total debt recovery rate on the client's record is $40.00 or more a week, you will receive the following warning message:

[Maximum Debt Recovery Rate Exceeded]

If the client does not wish to exceed this maximum recovery rate you will need to adjust the new offset rate or reduce the other debt recovery rates so that the total debt recovery rate is no more than $40.00 a week.

If the client wishes to pay an amount that will exceed the maximum $40.00 a week they must put this in writing. You must enter a comment on the reason for this decision in the comments field on SOFSA or SOFSC screen. For example:

[Client volunteered to pay more than $40.00 a week]

Note this is a mandatory SWIFTT action required whenever an offset amount is entered that results in the client's total offset rate of more than $40 a week. The decision to accept repayments of $40 per week or more must be recorded in a client event note under the note subject - Debt Details - Other.
