Client fails job interview or job offer requirement
When MSD gets notification that a client has failed to comply with the pre-benefit requirement of attending and participating in an interview for suitable employment or accepting an offer of suitable employment, MSD should first check if the client has a good and sufficient reason.
Client has a good and sufficient reason
If the client has a good and sufficient reason MSD can continue with the application process including pre-benefit activity requirements.
Client has no good and sufficient reason
Where the client has no good and sufficient reason then the action taken depends on the status of their application for benefit at the time. For more information see:
Application form not completed prior to failure
A client may fail to comply with the pre-benefit requirement of attending and participating in an interview for suitable employment, or accepting an offer of suitable employment before they have completed an application form for benefit.
When this occurs the client will have to re-establish their eligibility for benefit. The date the client makes contact to do this, will become their new date of first contact.
