Death of a caregiver
When the caregiver dies, Child Disability Allowance payments generally stop from the start of the pay period following the date of death.
MSD will need to find out what care arrangements have been made for the child.
The new caregiver may meet the qualifications for Child Disability Allowance, and the child may be able to be included as a dependent child if the new caregiver is getting a main benefit.
Cost of funeral
The person responsible for the cost of the funeral may be able to get a Funeral Grant.
