Weather conditions - OSCAR

Some clients may have a job that is affected by weather conditions and they are unable to work their standard hours.

As these clients may still be called back to work at any time OSCAR can continue to be paid for a period of up to 3 weeks, if the child continues to attend the OSCAR provider.

The types of occupations affected include (but are not limited to):

• Shearer - cannot shear the sheep if they are wet
• Mussel farmer - it is impossible to gather mussels when the water is too murky
• Road worker - affected by storms, they cannot continue with certain tasks like tar sealing as the tar seal will not set in the rain

A clients ability to work their standard hours may also be affected by a weather event, such as flooding or earthquakes.
