Receiving Special Benefit

A client or their partner (if any) who are receiving current, suspended or expired Special Benefit or continue to be eligible for a Special Benefit cannot get Community Costs.

The Residential Subsidy Unit will treat an application for Community Costs from these clients as a review of their Special Benefit. The client's essential ongoing community costs may be considered in the reassessment of Special Benefit.

Note Special Benefit should be reviewed if it is current, suspended, or expired at the time of application for Community Costs.
