Evacuees in temporary accommodation
At a local level, Civil Defence and Emergency Management is likely to be involved in organising alternative accommodation for evacuees and is responsible for housing evacuees in the emergency phase of an event.
In the recovery phase, payment can be made where evacuees are accommodated in temporary accommodation (in motels, hotels, camping grounds or home-stays, for example).
The amount paid to accommodation providers can cover the actual costs provided this does not exceed the set maximum amount payable.
If accommodation costs include provision of food ensure that any further payments for food are for additional food requirements not supplied by the accommodation provider.
Payments are only available until the evacuees are able to return to their home.
