Emergency Benefit : Contents
Payment when client or partner absent from New Zealand
There are some situations where the benefit payments will be affected when the client is absent from New Zealand. The action required by the Ministry of Social Development will depend on the reason the client is absent from New Zealand and whether they are continuing to be paid a benefit.
Whether a partner of an Emergency Benefit client can be absent from New Zealand and continue getting their benefit payments depends on their work or work preparation obligations.
