Client deferred from their work obligations

The following clients may have a deferral from their work obligations:

  • clients with a health condition, injury or a disability or
  • clients who are 27 weeks pregnant or more, or have complications with their pregnancy

Clients in these circumstances generally cannot be absent from New Zealand and continue getting benefit payments, unless they meet the criteria for approved travel.
