Client dies before benefit is granted or reviewed
Surviving partner or dependent child
When a client dies (and there is a surviving partner or dependent child) before a decision is made on an application or review for Jobseeker Support, you can continue the application or review process as if the client had not died.
Single client
When there is no surviving partner or dependent children the benefit application should generally be declined.
However, if there is a request for the application to be decided or the circumstances of the situation merit it, consult your manager client service delivery for a decision.
Funeral Grant
In situations when the decision to grant or review Jobseeker Support is made after the date of death of the client, you decide any Funeral Grant as if the deceased client were getting Jobseeker Support.
