Commencement of position
A client can start their Community Work Experience from the first date that the position is available. This must not be more than one week after the 2-week search period has ended.
Commencement during 2-week search period
A client may find and start their position within the 2-week search period (after MSD has confirmed the organisation and position are suitable). If they start during this period, the 4-week position period will start from the date they start the position. This allows them to recomply with their obligations more quickly.
Note clients still need to meet the requirements of 5 hours per week for 4 weeks.
Commencement after 2-week search period
If a client's position starts in the first week after the 2-week search period ends, the first day of the position might not be the first day of the week.
f MSD is satisfied the approved position will start within that week, and the client can still complete their required 5 hours, the position period can start from the first day of the week.
