Information from a Self-Assessment
Clients have an obligation to complete a Self-Assessment when asked.
A Self-Assessment is a series of questions that focus on what a person can do and aim to gather information about the person's skills, barriers to employment, and what support would enable them to find and stay in work.
This information, when asked, will be used along with the information on the Work Capacity Medical Certificate to determine benefit eligibility, assign work obligations and to stream people to the appropriate level of service.
Consider whether this, with the other evidence provided, indicates that the client has the capacity to work part-time or not. If so, part-time work obligations must be applied.
For more information see:
- Guidelines for interpreting a Self-Assessment [no link find out why]
