Specific engagements
Specific engagements are activities that a client or partner (if any included in their Jobseeker Support) can complete in the 13 weeks before their expiry date that satisfy either the eligibility or employment part of the reapplication process.
A specific engagement may include:
- an interaction with MSD where the client confirms the same circumstances that apply to the Jobseeker Support qualifications, as required for the reapplication, and
- a discussion with MSD about what the client is doing or needs to do to find or prepare for suitable employment
If a client or their partner satisfy the eligibility or employment part of the reapplication process through specific engagements before their expiry date, they do not need to complete those parts of the reapplication again.
They must still complete the outstanding parts of the reapplication when they reapply.
For more information see:
Timeframe for completing specific engagements
Specific engagements can be completed to satisfy the eligibility or employment parts of the reapplication in the 13 weeks before the client’s expiry date.
This means any activities that would be considered a specific engagement, that are completed outside of the 13 weeks before the expiry date, do not count towards the reapplication.
