Specific engagement completed for both eligibility and employment

If a client (and their partner if any included in their Jobseeker Support) have satisfied both the eligibility and employment parts of the reapplication through specific engagements, they only need to confirm whether they have had any changes in their circumstances since those specific engagements, agree to their obligations and confirm their intention to reapply to complete the reapplication.

When a client has satisfied all parts of the reapplication (including where in the 13 weeks before their expiry date, specific engagements for eligibility and employment are completed to satisfy parts of the reapplication) and continues to qualify for Jobseeker Support, their benefit may be regranted automatically.

This applies when all of the following requirements are met:

• a client has confirmed their circumstances for the purposes of an eligibility check, and
• the client has completed an appropriate employment engagement, and
• the client has completed their reapplication, including agreeing to their obligations and their intent to reapply, and
• the outcome is that the client continues to meet the qualifications for Jobseeker Support.

Jholo's Jobseeker Support commenced on 10 November 2025. His expiry date is 11 May 2026.

In March, Jholo applies for Temporary Additional Support which commences on 15 March 2026. He is also granted Course Participation Assistance on 5 April 2026 to attend a short-term employment related training course. As these specific engagements occurred in the 13 weeks before his expiry date, the engagements satisfy both the eligibility and employment parts of the 26 week reapplication.

On 1 April 2026, Jholo is sent a letter advising what he needs to do to complete his reapplication. Jholo only needs to agree to his obligations and confirm his intention to reapply. Jholo completes the reapplication form online and declares he has had no changes in circumstances since he completed the specific engagements.

Jholo's benefit is automatically regranted from 11 May 2026, with a new expiry date of 9 November 2026.
