Qualification if one partner remains in New Zealand
A client qualified for New Zealand Superannuation in their own right can be temporarily absent from New Zealand for up to 26 weeks and continue to get New Zealand Superannuation.
When a partner has left New Zealand permanently and the other partner remains in New Zealand, their qualification for New Zealand Superannuation depends on whether they are qualified in their own right or are a grandparented non-qualified partner.
