Tax codes for hospital rate
The hospital rate for New Zealand Superannuation (after tax) must be equal to the hospital rates for other benefits. This means that the client's tax code may need to be changed.
If the client's usual rate of payment (after tax) is below the hospital rate, ask the client what tax code they prefer.
Restore the tax code to the pre-hospital code on discharge if it has been changed.
