Obligations

Clients must tell us straight away of any changes in their circumstances or their family's situation that may affect entitlement to New Zealand Superannuation. Clients agree to this by signing the New Zealand Superannuation application form.

Partners aged 16 to 19 years old

When a young partner (aged 16 to 19 years old) is included as the grandparented non-qualified partner of a client receiving New Zealand Superannuation, they have youth activity obligations.

A grandparented non-qualified partner is any person who was included in a New Zealand Superannuation or Veteran's Pension as a non-qualified partner before 9 November 2020 and is still included after 9 November 2020.
