Examples of notice periods

The table below provides an example of how to determine the notice period to exclude non-working days. In this example, weekends and Anzac Day are excluded to ensure the client is given the required number of working days' notice.

Example - Notice period

A client's Sole Parent Support commenced on 27 May 2026.

The 'initial notice to reapply' letter sent (25 working days before expiry date)

For the purposes of the reapplication process the notice period starts 20 working days before the expiry date and ends the day before the expiry date.

An initial notice to reapply letter is sent to the client 25 working days before the expiry date.
