Assessing capacity for work preparation obligation - primary client

A client receiving Supported Living Payment may be assessed for their capacity to meet the work preparation obligation.

Clients cannot be required to meet the base work preparation obligation to take all reasonable steps to prepare for employment. However, they can, when required, be asked to meet the other work preparation obligations.

Before you require a Supported Living Payment client to meet these work preparation obligations, you must consider their capacity to undertake the work preparation obligations.

Work preparation obligations cannot be applied

Work preparation obligations will not apply to Supported Living Payment clients who do not have capacity to undertake them.

Fails to attend interview to discuss capacity
