Hours of work

When the employment position is for less than 15 hours a week there is no need to have a Sustainable Employment Trial.

It is preferable that the number of hours worked is appropriate to the client's circumstances however it is the client's decision. In some cases it may be appropriate for the client to start initially with a lower number of hours and to consider increasing these over time.

Once the client starts their Sustainable Employment Trial and the client temporarily works less than 15 hours in a week (for example, is on sick leave), the Sustainable Employment Trial should continue. However, if the client ceases work or permanently reduces their hours to below 15 hours a week, the Sustainable Employment Trial should stop.
