Qualifications - Partner dies
The lump sum payment on death is made to a veteran when their partner or spouse dies and the partner:
- met the age and residence qualifications for New Zealand superannuation and
- was getting Veterans Pension when they died and
- was ordinarily resident in New Zealand on the date of death
