Declining request to review
MSD can review the eligibility or continued eligibility or housing needs of a client. A prospective social housing client or current client can also request a review of decisions made about their eligibility or housing needs (property requirements).
There are some circumstances when you can decline a request to review a client's eligibility or housing needs (property requirements) if you have reason to believe that the client's circumstances have not significantly changed while the client on the register.
For example:
- no change in circumstances
the client is seeking a second opinion about the outcome of their eligibility assessment - change in circumstances has no impact on housing need or housing needs (property requirements) for example, a child moving in does not have a good reason not to share a bedroom under the bedroom allocation requirements
Review of decision
A client cannot apply for a Review of Decision if they do not agree with the decision not to review their housing needs.
However, you need to make sure there is good reason not to undertake a review for the client's eligibility, and record the reason in full.
