Notifying housing provider of tenancy review outcome
Tenant does not qualify for social housing
Once a decision has been made that a tenant no longer qualifies for social housing, MSD must notify the housing provider at the end of the 3 month transition period.
When MSD notifies the housing provider, MSD:
- must advise of the results of the review - whether the tenant continues to qualify for social housing or not
- may include any other information MSD considers reasonable or necessary, including matters relevant to tenancy sustainability and
- must include the information requested by the social housing provider so they can make decisions on continuing to allocate and let housing
Note if the tenant applies for a review of decision, it is their responsibility to advise their social housing provider that they have done this.
MSD needs to notify the housing provider of the outcome of the review or appeal.
Tenant qualifies for social housing
When a tenant continues to qualify for social housing, MSD must notify the housing provider. Generally this will be done straight away.
