Death of a client
The date benefit payment stops following the death of a client depends on whether the client has:
- a partner or
- a dependent child
Cost of funeral
The person responsible for the cost of the funeral may be able to get a Funeral Grant.
Child turns 18
A child will not be excluded from the parent or caregiver's Jobseeker Support Student Hardship when the child turns 18 during the terminal benefit period.
The review of circumstances for Jobseeker Support Student Hardship when their child turns 18 is not required when the client has died.
