Clients eligible for Jersey or Guernsey pensions or benefits
Under the agreement regarding social security in Jersey and Guernsey a client must apply for any pension or benefit that they may be entitled to from Jersey or Guernsey if they are applying for a New Zealand pension or benefit.
If a client has residence, or previously had residence, in Jersey or Guernsey they will need to complete an application for a Jersey or Guernsey pension. International Services will contact the client and ask them to apply for one of these pensions.
When the client completes an application it is important that you check the following details before forwarding it to International Services:
- all questions on the form have been answered
- all supporting documentation is attached (these should be sighted, photocopied, and authorised as true copies)
- the application form and the Information Release form are signed and dated
If the client refuses to apply for any Jersey or Guernsey pension or benefit they may be eligible for, you should contact International Services.
