Jersey/Guernsey pensions or benefits in New Zealand
When a former resident of Jersey or Guernsey applies for a New Zealand pension or benefit it is important to know whether they are receiving a Jersey or Guernsey pension or benefit, or if they may be entitled to one.
A client who has previously resided in Jersey or Guernsey must show their Overseas Residence details when they apply for any New Zealand benefit or pension.
The overseas residence details must be entered on CMS. These details are used by International Services to determine whether the client may be entitled to an overseas pension.
If the client is already receiving an overseas pension or benefit you should find out the details to establish whether this pension or benefit should be a direct deduction from the New Zealand benefit or pension.
