New Zealand Superannuation
When a client from Jersey/Guernsey meets all the qualifications for New Zealand Superannuation except residence they may qualify under the agreement with Jersey/Guernsey.
The agreement with Jersey/Guernsey allows periods of contributions to the insurance scheme in Jersey/Guernsey to be regarded as residence in New Zealand for a client to meet the period of residence qualification for New Zealand Superannuation.
Under the agreement the client must have contributed to the Jersey/Guernsey insurance scheme for a minimum of 12 months.
The client can use their own or their partner's (or former partner's) periods of contributions to the insurance scheme in Jersey/Guernsey to meet the New Zealand residence qualification.
The client may also be entitled to a Jersey/Guernsey pension, which may be directly deducted from New Zealand Superannuation.
