Applications lodged in Malta
When a former New Zealand resident is already living in Malta they may be entitled to receive New Zealand Superannuation or Veteran's Pension if they use the provisions of the agreement with Malta to meet the qualifying criteria.
The client will need to complete an Application for New Zealand Benefit form and this can be sent to Senior Services - international or lodged at a Maltese National Social Security Office who will send it to International Services
International Services is responsible for:
- assessing entitlement
- granting and declining applications
- maintaining client records
- reviewing entitlement and
- cancelling payment
All payments
All payments of the New Zealand Superannuation or Veteran's Pension will be made to the client. This is because the agreement with Malta does not include a provision to recover a debt from the initial arrears.
