Income for a past period
Where a client declares income for a past period and there is either no income or a different amount entered on INCMH, the client's Young Parent Payment must be reviewed.
Income must be charged against the Young Parent Payment for the week in which the income is earned or the period that it represents.
Example
A client phones on 22/04/2015 and advises that they received $220 gross income for one week's work for the period 06/04/2015 to 12/04/2015.
The client has been overpaid their Young Parent Payment as there is no income on their SWIFTT record. A debt must be established for the overpayment of benefit for the week 06/04/2015 to 12/04/2015.
The following is the process:
INCMA | add 00.00 effective from Monday 13/04/2015 |
INCMA | add $220 effective from Monday 06/04/2015 - a backdated review will be required |
SBDR | complete a back dated review using the abated benefit rate for the week 06/04/2015 to 12/04/2015 |
SWIFTT | debt established for the period 06/04/2015 to 12/04/2015 |
Backdated review required
In some cases when income has been added SWIFTT will give a message that a backdated review SBDR is required.
This warning message occurs because the effective date (when adding the income) is prior to the current pay period. SWIFTT reads the benefit rate record SRAUI and can only automatically pay any arrears or establish any debt from the date of the last benefit rate review. Therefore you need to tell SWIFTT how much benefit the client should have been paid and over what period, by entering the abated benefit rate in SBDR.
As with all income recorded on a client's record any Extra help must also be reviewed.
